Aftermarket Tire Options

145/R12 LT tires are a niche size in the US market but are available through major online retailers and some specialty tire shops. The three most commonly recommended options in the owner community are:

145/R12 LT Tire Options
BrandPart NumberNotes / Info
NankangCX668 145/R12 LTMost popular US choice — good all-season compound, affordable
Bridgestone604V 145/R12 LTJDM market original — very good quality
Sun FA/T 145/R12 LTOff-road oriented all-terrain — recommended for farm/trail use

Wheel Adapters

The stock 4×100 bolt pattern limits wheel selection significantly. Many owners install a 4×100 to 4×114.3 wheel adapter, which opens up a much wider range of compact Japanese and domestic wheels. This is especially useful when looking for taller 12-inch or 13-inch aftermarket options with more aggressive tread patterns.

Gorilla / Various4×100 to 4×114.325mm–40mm spacer adapter — allows use of common JDM/US 4-lug wheels
Warning:Wheel adapters effectively act as spacers, increasing wheel offset and changing the suspension geometry. Use adapters with hub-centric rings if the adapter's bore does not match the Acty's 67.1 mm hub bore. Lug-centric adapters (centered only by the lug nuts) can develop vibration over time. Have the wheels re-torqued after the first 50–100 miles following any adapter installation.

Lug Nuts

Lug Nut Specification
BrandPart NumberNotes / Info
McGard / VariousM12×1.5 Conical60° conical seat — standard for Acty OEM wheels

The OEM lug nuts use a 60° conical (tapered) seat. This is the most common type in the Japanese market. Aftermarket wheels designed for the US market sometimes use a ball seat (spherical) lug nut — always match the seat type to the wheel's lug hole design. Using the wrong seat type can cause the nut to contact only at a small point, risking loosening or stud damage.

Notes on Tire Size

The Acty's wheel wells have very limited clearance. Tires significantly taller or wider than the stock 145/R12 will rub on the body or suspension at full lock or full droop. Some owners have successfully run 155/R12 with a lift kit installed, but verify clearance before committing — rubbing at speed or during tight turns can cause sudden tire failure.
