Replacement Procedure
- Locate the round air filter housing on the top of the engine. It is secured by a center wing nut or clips depending on the variant.
- Remove the wing nut or release the housing clips and lift the top cover off.
- Lift the old filter element out. Note the orientation — the open face sits down toward the carburetor intake.
- Wipe the inside of the housing with a clean rag to remove any accumulated dust and debris.
- Drop in the new filter element with the open face down. Reinstall the top cover and tighten the wing nut snugly — hand tight, no tools needed.
Tip:On trucks used in dusty or agricultural environments, inspect the filter every oil change and replace earlier than the 15,000 km interval if it is visibly clogged. A heavily restricted air filter will cause rich running and poor throttle response.
