Hijet S110P — Fluids & Capacities
Engine oil, cooling system, transmission, transfer case, and differential specifications.
Engine Oil
Capacity (with filter)
3.1 L
Viscosity
5W-30 or 10W-30
Service Interval
10,000 km / 6 months
Danger:Do not use 15W-40, 20W-50, or any other heavy-grade oil. Elevated oil pressure from thick oil will blow out the front and rear crankshaft seals. Stick to 5W-30 or 10W-30.
Modern API SN or SP full-synthetic 5W-30 is recommended over the original SE/SF spec — it handles the EF engine's high-rev short-stroke design better and resists breakdown over longer intervals. Check the oil on the dipstick before every service; heavily carbonized or sludgy oil is a sign of extended drain intervals or internal bearing wear.
Recommended Engine Oils
| Brand | Part Number | Notes / Info |
|---|---|---|
| Castrol | GTX 5W-30 | API SN — widely available, good cold-start performance |
| Mobil 1 | 5W-30 Full Synthetic | API SP — recommended for long-term preservation |
| Valvoline | Advanced 5W-30 | API SP full synthetic |
| Pennzoil | Platinum 5W-30 | API SP full synthetic |
Cooling System
Capacity (5MT 4WD)
5.5 – 5.7 L
Coolant Type
Ethylene Glycol Long-Life — 50:50 premix
Thermostat Opens
82 – 88 °C
Min. Thermostat Travel at 95 °C
8.0 mm
Warning:The S110P's mid-engine layout limits airflow over the aluminum block, so overheating happens quickly when the cooling system is neglected. Test the thermostat if the engine runs cold or spikes hot — a unit with less than 8.0 mm of travel at 95 °C must be replaced. If you find heavy rust or scale during a flush, flush and neutralize the entire system (including the heater core) before installing a new thermostat.
Manual Transmission
Capacity — 4WD (incl. transfer case)
2.3 L
Capacity — 2WD
1.1 L
Capacity — Auto transfer case (separate)
1.6 L
Fluid Spec
API GL-4 75W or 75W-80
Fill Level
0 – 5 mm below fill plug threads
Danger:Never put GL-5 gear oil in the manual gearbox. GL-5's sulfur-phosphorus additives chemically attack the brass synchronizer rings in Daihatsu transmissions and will cause grinding and shift failure. GL-4 only.
Compatible Manual Transmission Fluids (GL-4)
| Brand | Part Number | Notes / Info |
|---|---|---|
| Redline | MT-LV 70W | GL-4 — closest match to OEM Ammix spec |
| Motul | Gear 300 75W-90 | GL-4 75W-90 — widely available |
| Valvoline | VV975 | Full Synthetic GL-4 75W-90 |
| Amsoil | MTG | Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Oil 75W-90 GL-4 |
Drain & Fill Procedure
- Warm the truck up — warm fluid drains faster and pulls more contaminants out with it. Park on a level surface and shut off the engine.
- Remove the fill plug first. If the fill plug is seized and you drain without opening it, you will have no way to refill.
- Remove the drain plug and let the old fluid drain fully.
- Reinstall the drain plug. Fill through the fill hole until fluid just begins to weep out — this is the correct level (0 – 5 mm below the fill plug threads).
- Reinstall the fill plug. Check for leaks after the first short drive.
Differentials
Note:The differentials require GL-5 (not GL-4) to handle the extreme shear loads of the hypoid gear sets. Check the drain plug magnet for metal shavings every service and inspect the differential breather tubes for blockages.
Front Differential
0.5 L — API GL-5 80W-90
Rear Differential (Standard)
1.1 L — API GL-5 80W-90
Rear Differential (with Diff Lock)
1.3 L — API GL-5 SAE 90W
Fill Level
0 – 5 mm below fill plug threads
Compatible Differential Fluids (GL-5)
| Brand | Part Number | Notes / Info |
|---|---|---|
| Redline | 80W-90 GL-5 | Front and rear differential — hypoid gear oil |
| Valvoline | Gear Oil 80W-90 | API GL-5 — widely available |
| Royal Purple | Max Gear 80W-90 | API GL-5 full synthetic |
